Watching baby breen turtles make their first journey from the shell to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean is a treat many of our guests at Ras Kutani get to witness, in fact more and more every year due to the diligent work of SeaSense. SeaSense is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) that works closely with coastal communities in Tanzania to conserve and protect endangered marine species including sea turtles, dugongs, whales, dolphins and whale sharks.

A lovely morning was spent with the children of Mbutu Mkwajuni School - a primary school for children between the ages of 4-14 from the surrounding villages - and their headmaster Shaha Mzanda and the Chairman of Kichangani, Omary Mgaza as we delightedly handed over donations for their school.
