We are thrilled to announce that the newly renovated, beautiful Fanjove Island is open and welcoming guests, once more!

Fanjove Island, the smallest of six islands in the Songo Songo Archipelago, offers a phenomenal private island marine safari combined with mind-blowing decadent accommodations and the same high quality personalised hospitality service, the Selous Safari Company is known for.

Expect wraparound, azure-blue ocean views. Step off your beach villa deck, toes in the white sand and wade right into the lovely tepid ocean. Swim, snorkel, SUP and kayak from the beach. Board a dhow sailing boat at sunset, go on a marine safari adventure. Explore the beautifully pristine, 11 kilometer coral house reef snorkelling or diving. Dine in the iconic, renovated and transformed 19th century lighthouse restaurant  with infinitely glorious ocean and sunset views.

Fanjove Island has undergone a beautiful transformation… So what exactly is new?

10 New Chic Beach Villas - A totally new decadent design, 132m2, each with a private beach pavilion and sunbeds, a deck with two hammocks and a daybed, minibar, hairdryer, safe in each room, mosquito nets with fans, two showers and twin basins.

The restoration of the iconic 19th century lighthouse which is a sensational sundowner vantage point. The lighthouse on Fanjove has been transformed into a new stylish signature restaurant.

The new "all inclusive" rate incorporates several added-value inclusions which previously required additional fees:

- Activities: Sunset dhow cruise, marine safari, half day sandbank / beach picnic, kayak, SUP, snorkeling off the beach, island walk
- Drinks (local beverages included, except cocktails, champagne & premium brands)
- Return boat transfers from Songo Songo Island pier to Fanjove Island
- Excludes diving and fishing

What an eventful and exciting venture it has been. It is certainly not an easy task to rebuild a tiny, remote island off the south coast of Tanzania, but we are sure you will agree, the wait has been totally worthwhile.

It is the height of safari season and with great relief I notice that Tanzania is once again bustling with safari-goers ready to explore and yearning for new adventures. Although most of the flights I have been on the past few days have been filled to the brim, surprisingly our little 12-seater charter plane by Auric is empty this morning.
