With 40kms to the nearest camp, Jongomero Private Bush Manor is enchantingly secluded from the well worn safari trail.  On all our activities, our guests can indulge in the solitude, which offers not only an intimate closeness to nature but also exclusive game viewing experiences.

Fly camping

Would you like to have the definitive wilderness experience?  If so you must prebook a walking safari, also known as fly-camping. During the day walk and discover the hidden depths of Ruaha by spending the night sleeping under a canopy of stars after sharing stories around the camp fire and showering under the trees.

We also offer a multi-day fly camp experience. Immerse yourself in the heart of the wilderness with a 3-day, 2-night fly camp excursion, exploring the undiscovered regions of the magnificent Ruaha. This is the perfect idyllic adventure for a minimum of two to a maximum of six guests, bookable from mid July to the end of November (weather permitting).

The road network around camp was primarily developed by our knowledgeable guides and therefore perfectly placed for superlative game drives, with the blood-pumping thrills of tracking animals and the reverential calm of learning about this incredible environment.

At Jongomero Private Bush Manor you will enjoy your own private game drive vehicle and private guide for the ultimate game driving experience.

Game Walks

Offered to guests aged 16 or over, game walks are probably the most fascinating way to truly experience the wonders of Ruaha.

Out of the vehicle and being on foot is a humbling experience in this vast, untouched land.  Set at a leisurely pace, the walks are not intended to find big game, instead it offers guests an education into the lives of the smaller animals as well as the birdlife, insects, flora and fauna.  The walking season begins mid to end of June until the beginning of the rains in November or early December. The exact start date is finalised between the camp and TANAPA and is dependent on the bush conditions and visibility. Extra park fee paid in camp.

Ohe Ruaha National Park in Tanzania offers a remarkable birdwatching experience, home to an impressive 570 species of birds across its diverse habitats. This park is a must-visit destination for birders and nature enthusiasts alike, providing a wealth of opportunities to observe and admire the beauty of the region's avian wildlife.
