Global Trade Sales Marketing Support
Renette was born and raised in South Africa. She has been involved with the travel industry throughout her entire working career. Renette started her career in a marketing position promoting nature conservation, game reserves and national parks and tourism boards. She relocated to England in 2001, and settled in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton. She landed a sales position with a UK travel sales and marketing firm, representing boutique hotels and safari lodges. Exclusive Retreats became her own company and she built up a portfolio of prestigious African properties. Thereafter she was head-hunted by a global, luxury travel brand in the capacity of UK Sales Director. Recently returning to her roots focussing on African travel sales representation, Renette is delighted to be an extension of The Selous Safari Company, in the UK. Well-travelled, she counts herself lucky to have been to 50-plus exciting destinations, including 16 on the African continent. When she is not at her desk, with her ‘zoom companion kitty-cat’ watching over her, she is elbow-deep perfecting recipes, foraging in the English countryside or walking on the beach.

Tania Steyn is a digital marketing consultant with over 15 years experience in the travel and tourism industry. She has an MCom degree in Tourism Management at The University of Pretoria. She joined the Selous Safari Company team in July 2020 to assist with digital marketing initiatives, social media and content creation. Previously she was involved in marketing Franschhoek, one of South Africa’s key tourism destinations. She has also worked with other clients, such as the Cape Wine Auction, the Sommeliers Selection, The Chocolate Festival and the Selati Game Reserve. She lives in South Africa in the small town of Hoedspruit, which is in the heart of the Greater Kruger area. Africa is close to her heart and one of her most memorable trips involved travelling with her husband for three months from Cape to Cairo on a small 200cc Chinese motorbike covering 11 African countries. When she is not working, you will find her in the bush on a game drive or out for a run or exploring somewhere new.
